I have been thinking about you lately.
Not you specifically, though maybe you specifically. The woman who shows up every day, fully, for everyone around her. The one who holds the schedule and the feelings and the logistics and the invisible thousand small things that would fall apart if she stopped paying attention for even a moment.
I have been thinking about how she looks from the outside. Capable. Steady. Like she has it handled.
And I have been thinking about what it actually costs her.
I know this woman because I am her. I am building a business, raising a family, and carrying more than I ever let anyone see. Not because I am hiding it, but because I learned so early that strength meant not letting it show. That needing something was a sign of weakness. That the right thing to do was to keep going, keep giving, keep holding.
I am still learning that holding everything together is not the same as thriving. That looking fine is not the same as being fine. And that the woman underneath all of that holding, the one with her own needs and her own quiet longings and her own exhaustion she never quite gets around to naming, deserves more than the leftover moments at the end of the day.
She deserves something that sees her.
That is why I make candles the way I do. Not as a luxury. Not as a treat. As a small, honest acknowledgment that you are carrying something real, that it matters, and that you are allowed to receive something that works alongside you rather than asking more of you.
When I pour each candle, I think about the woman who will light it. I think about what she walked through to get to that moment. The meeting she held together. The child she soothed at 2am. The feeling she set aside because there was not time for it yet. I pour the bergamot for her cortisol. I seal the crystal beneath the wax for her quiet strength. I choose the color of the vessel for the part of her that needs to feel safe.
None of it fixes anything. That is not the point.
The point is that for a few minutes, in whatever moment she is already in, something is working alongside her instead of asking something of her. And that matters more than I can say.
You were never meant to hold it all and look fine doing it. You were meant to be held sometimes too.
This is my small attempt at that.
With love + light,
Shay
