Hi I’m Shay, creator of The Phoenix Candles™️.
I wanted to take a moment to share my personal journey with you and how The Phoenix Candles™️ came to be.
Growing up under tumultuous circumstances, I left childhood feeling abandoned, insecure, and unsafe, almost every day I was in survival mode. I realized as a young adult I could either succumb to my pain or persevere and rise to greater heights.
I chose to fight for myself and in so doing I began to break a generational cycle and heal. While this journey was filled with peaks and valleys, day by day I began to learn how to move forward in a more loving way.
Today, I’m in a place where I can pay this love forward and with that, The Phoenix Candles’ vision was born.
Every Phoenix Candle has an element that represents some aspect of my healing journey.
The Phoenix Candles™️ brand was created to inspire others to believe in themselves and in the darkest moments, to rise into the light.

our story
The story of the Phoenix has always been inspirational – a bird rising from the ashes as a symbol of hope, personal strength and resilience; all born from the knowledge and experience of overcoming difficult times and challenging circumstances. It was the ideal metaphor for our candle line that embodies this same principle.
We love the idea of using the power of scent to practice mindfulness and find your inner strength to achieve peace and harmony. We also believe in the science of Aromachology, in which joyful memories are evoked by particular scents. With our collection, we wanted to go beyond scent, and provide a full-sensory, mindful candle experience that also uplifts and inspires, by taking time to renew the mind, body and soul.
Handmade in small batches using only the finest quality ingredients, every one of our seven candles has been thoughtfully designed, named and crafted to invoke traits that are needed for the renewal and rebirth of one’s spirit.
It begins with our candle names of Perseverance, Hope, Optimism, Empowerment, Nurture, Intuition and Xenacious, and it is no coincidence that each starts with a letter that spells out “Phoenix”.
From the positive feeling elicited when you first hear the name, to the comforting visual impact of the color of the jar, to the soothing sound of the wooden wick’s crackle, to the healing intention of the infused crystal – each and every aspect of our products has been carefully and lovingly taken into consideration. This thoughtfulness even extends to the size. Each candle is 12 ounces for the number 12 in numerology, which symbolizes improving your life, finding true happiness, and leading you to a better place.
As a company, our uncompromising commitment to sustainability and safe business practices is shown by using only high quality, clean ingredients that are also responsibly sourced with minimal impact on the environment. This includes vegan, toxin-free fragrances, 100% ethically produced soy wax, recyclable glass vessels and FSC certified wooden wicks.
To further our pledge to Mother Earth, we will only work with suppliers and partners who share our core values.
We also believe in philanthropy, and a percentage of our profits goes to charitable causes such as Trees for the Future, the child advocacy group CASA, as well as organizations for suicide prevention and people experiencing homelessness.
